Genomics Research at the UCSC Treehouse Childhood Cancer Initiative

Research at the UCSC Treehouse Childhood Cancer Initiative centers on developing tools to analyze each patient’s tumor in the context of genomic data collected from thousands of pediatric and adult tumors. Our research has resulted in a comparative approach that uses big data to find causes of cancer that are undetectable when analyzing each patient’s data in isolation. Our genomics research may suggest targeted, less toxic and more effective treatments for patients whose cancer has not responded to standard therapies.
